Shopify

Shopify is the commerce platform. IncogX is the team that makes the storefront, the theme, and the custom app fit the catalogue, the markets, and the operations behind the order. The platform stays Shopify. The parts that are unique to you are built on purpose.

In brief, then in detail

  • Storefront and theme. A theme structured so merchandisers can run a campaign without a developer, and so the next release does not break the last one.
  • Catalogue, markets, and checkout. Products, variants, duties of markets you actually sell in, and a checkout path that is tested, including a failed payment.
  • Custom apps. When a Shopify feature is not enough: an integration, a wholesale rule, a subscription, or a back-office task. Built as an app, not as a fragile edit to a theme file.
  • Migration. From another store or from a pile of spreadsheets. Products, customers, and URL redirects move in a plan, with a count before and after.

How it is run

The work is scoped like any other product. A PMP-certified project manager holds the launch date and the theme-review risk. A CSM-certified analyst writes the merchandising journeys. Senior engineers implement the theme and the app. ISTQB-certified testers buy the awkward product: a variant, a discount, a failed card. Peak traffic is a number, then a test.

IncogX staffs engagements with PMP-certified project managers, business analysts who hold the Certified ScrumMaster credential, and ISTQB-certified testers. PMP is issued by PMI, CSM by Scrum Alliance, and ISTQB by the International Software Testing Qualifications Board. Certificate numbers are not published. Senior engineers on these teams have more than ten years in production systems.

Terms, in plain language

  • Theme. The storefront’s presentation and sections. Custom where the brand or the catalogue demands it.
  • Shopify app. A separate application that extends the shop through Shopify’s APIs, so the theme stays replaceable.
  • Migration. Moving catalogue, customers, and orders, plus the redirects that keep existing links alive.
  • Merchandising. How a retailer groups, prices, and promotes products. The theme has to let them do it.
